The First annual flight sim convention was held at the world famous

Helicopter Museum,
Locking Moor Road
Weston-super-Mare

Somerset,
BS24 8PP
England.

This venue is one of the biggest FlightSim conventions on the global calendar.

Doors had to be opened early to cope with the crowds, 902 of them over the weekend.

Many members from different Virtual Airlines and clubs brought their PC's to display each and every Flight Sim model that's available, representing the museum exhibit they were positioned next to.

Some clubs included

Eric and Jamie from PDG Virtual,

John, Mark and Stephen from Fly the Limit.com,

Paul and Dan from UKATC

Alec, Mark and Duncan from VRAF,

Luke and his team from IVAO,

Howard from the South West Flight Sim Group.

Chris and Roger on the airwaves broadcasting live at Star FM.

We would like to thank Bob for the scenery of Weston and AndrĂ© from Holland for the wonderful fireworks that displayed on the big screen for all to see on the Saturday evening.

The weather didn't dampen anyones enthusiasm, even Brian and Neil on car park duty.

From the moment you arrived there was the smell of bacon butties with Sheryl and her devoted team spreading butter on the baps and frying the chips all day.

Paul and Dan had people lining up to have a go at flying the Virtual Blue Eagles.

Then John found a rogue router blocking the network and then started looking for it.

VatSimUK were on hand to keep us clear of each other in the Virtual Skies.

Meanwhile John was still looking for the network problem.

VRaF performed an amazing routine putting their Euro fighter Typhoon through its paces, one member of public thought it was real airshow footage on the big screen.

Ah Ha... John found the problem it was Mark from VRAF, ive never seen a grown man blush as much as he did.

Chris Sanders, from CockpitSonic UK, with the help of Jamie, finally worked out the jigsaw of parts sent over from Germany, to find out that some bits were missing of the 737, (hadn't been released from customs), but in true Brit style we got the job done anyway.

Dodosim released their new B206 for FSX, what an amazing piece of software, well done guys.

Dave from Flight 1 was overwhelmed with people wanting to try out their latest new products.

Darren and Vicki from Earth Simulations with Alderney for FSX, wow another great product to invest in.

Andy from Flightstore was grinning from ear to ear.

Saitek released their new products and with the auction on the Saturday, 2 lucky people won the new instument panels at a great bargain price.

Mac had a great time at Komodo simulations, does he never stop smiling.

Elfan from Avia press, had a stand with free copies of Helicopter International and Helidata

RC Simulations, thanks Bob and Carol, exhibited the DSC Blackshark, the queues for this were always long.

Adam and Seb with the Gyrosphere, if you were brave enough.

Bill Tresythe brought along his rig and copycat controls.

Alpine simulations demonstrated their triple 52" screens and computer systems.

Ian brought along the Aerodelfin what an amzing achievement he has accomplished.

Mark flew the Skysim Hawk in the replica cockpit in the Theatre room.

Jamie flew the DSC Blackshark as well as other helicopters.

PC Pilot's Derek and Martin were on hand to take all your subscriptions and had lots of special offers.

It was also a great pleasure to meet Joe from Mutley's Hangar.

Mark and Eddie stayed on site for security and they also produce Helivator magazine.

Lots of people had a flight round the bay in the Bell 206.

Both the Air Ambulances turned up on both days EC135 and Bo105,

with Castle Air G-PBEK A109 and the EC135 from WCAO police helicopter unit popping in.

We also met some great people from Heritage flight group, Hovercontrol, VatSim, Bristol and West Flight Group and Richard Bassett from the South West Flight Group, the list is endless, if we have missed anyone drop us a mail and we will get you added.
